Hello, CAC friends and family!
How’s your week been? Hale and hearty, up and coming, better and better, I hope! The Lord’s been sweeter to me as the days of this week have gone by! Can’t tell you how thankful I am for my wife. What an amazing, Godly, and loving lady she is to me. I know she is to you and the whole world as well. (Just thought I’d throw that in, and start saying it more often!)
It’s been a very active week at Calvary Academy with our first ever “Winter Olympics.” Every day, the students have enjoyed lively and good-hearted competition in 20-30 various indoor and outdoor games, differing by age. We’ll have a special celebration at our weekly chapel service next Wednesday, as we present the winners. Go Team CAA!
How’d you enjoy the CAC Ministry Expo last Tuesday evening? I sincerely thought it was a blast! We anticipate an extraordinary year 2012 with so many new saints and family members added to CAC in the last few months. If you missed the Expo, please be sure you get an Expo Book from the hospitality desk this Sunday and fill in your areas of passion, skill, and/or interest. It’s imperative that you get it turned in to the Communications ministry before you leave church Sunday afternoon, so we can append your information to what has already been entered. (Thanks, Sis. Jen Monteith, for the data entry process!)
I trust that you are still praying diligently for our insurance claim to be settled quickly. This week we entered a brand new phase, as described by Bro. Tom Shirmer:
“Sticking to the plan formulated last week, CAC filed its formal Complaint in Arapahoe County Court. Guide One will be served within the next few days and the clock will begin to run on their required responses at the beginning of next week. Throughout the coming weeks, their exposure in this unfriendly venue will become apparent. The Complaint presents the facts of the case in more detail than we’ve been able to share up until now. A PDF of the actual Complaint is available for your review via link at the bottom of this blog post.”
In closing, I have a scripture to help solidify and unify our thinking in regard to our present distress. In this passage, pay close attention to the repeated word “stewards.”
1 Corinthians 4:1-2 KJV
1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
Allow me to elaborate on the term “steward” by presenting its Strong’s concordance definition:
οἰκονόμος [oikonomos /oy·kon·om·os/] n m. 1 the manager of household or of household affairs. 1a esp. a steward, manager, superintendent (whether free-born or as was usually the case, a freed-man or a slave) to whom the head of the house or proprietor has intrusted the management of his affairs, the care of receipts and expenditures, and the duty of dealing out the proper portion to every servant and even to the children not yet of age. 1b the manager of a farm or landed estate, an overseer. 1c the superintendent of the city’s finances, the treasurer of a city (or of treasurers or quaestors of kings).
Folks, God has been abundantly good to CAC! What we have, we have by the grace of God. As the “head of the house,” He’s provided for our congregation every step of our journey since 1956! He’s the same, yesterday, today, and forever. It becomes our solemn duty when business arises that in any way threatens our God-given “landed estate,” to do what any good superintendent or manager should do: Pray and protect to our greatest ability. As a shepherd, David faced the devourer multiple times. (Remember the lion and the bear?) He was an excellent steward of his father’s flock, willing to stand between the slaughter of the sheep and the dripping fangs of the predator. In our case, God is leading the charge and, as your pastor, I’m following. There’s no doubt that satan hates everything good, Godly, and evangelistic about the CAC church family. I’m willing to stand in the path of the devourer and fight for God’s flock. God has given me an amazing and capable armor-bearer in the person of Bro. Tom Shirmer. He’s been dutiful and very prayerful as he’s interfaced in by behalf with many on the business side of this situation.
By God’s help, we’ll be good stewards! We need your prayers on a constant basis. You can count on being updated as the case develops into anything newsworthy.
Please be praying for the mountain trek a few saints, students, and I are taking to Keystone today. I’ll plan to send photos of the group throughout the day.
If you haven’t already, please click “Follow” at the bottom of this page, enter your email address, and you’ll be updated instantly by email every time this blog changes.
I’m praying for God’s best upon you and yours today! Can hardly wait to meet you all in the sanctuary of CAC for great praise for a Great God Sunday at 10:00 AM!
True shepherd love, under the Great Shepherd,
