REVIVAL TONIGHT! – CAC Friday Communique for August 24

Fabulous, Faith-filled, Friday to you!

It’s a blessing to be able to so effortlessly communicate with the beloved saints I’m blessed to serve. Thank you for your love for God and for the provision of His precious tidings of peace.

How’s the week been? Hectic? Harried? Slow? Boring? Mundane? Somewhere in the middle with unexpected variations? For my wife and I, it’s been somewhat jammed full of a “good kind of busy,” but not so much so as to miss some wonderful times with our children and some of you. We love the wonderful fellowship of God’s people.

This week kicks off my second year of graduate school, with studies in Christian Leadership, from Apostolic School of Theology. This week has been of particular interest as we’ve studied coursework with regard to rightly dividing the Word. A “sound Biblical hermeneutic” they call it. The way we interpret God’s word has everything to do with our conclusions and eternal destiny. Just so you know, we Apostolics choose a literal interpretation as opposed to an allegorical interpretation. Those who fall prey to allegorical assumptions with respect to Bible understanding end up with conclusions that are deadly! They include British-Israelism and preterism. Deadly doctrines, indeed.

Did you hear about my wife’s encounter with the 450 lb black bear in our front yard? She was on a little stroll, talking to her mother on the phone, when she happened to turn around and do a bit of a “stare-down” with this beastly critter! She continued talking, calmly facing the bear as she retreated up the driveway. As soon as she felt close enough to safety, she turned and ran up the driveway and rushed breathlessly into the house with desperation in her voice (of course!) The bear did not chase her, thankfully, but ran away (as we watched) at the barking of our Golden Retriever. Thank God for keeping that encounter from turning any worse!

It’s been an eventful week with regard to preparations for Calvary Academy’s 33rd school year, to begin September 4th. What a sheer delight to work hand-in-hand with the many parents who have spent countless cumulative hours in shuffling furniture, cleaning, painting, organizing, etc. With each new generation of students, it’s so exciting to have a new, and fresh cohort of parents that keep the air of expectancy and esprit de corps alive and well! God bless the parents, students, staff, and even non-family saints who’ve pitched in. Thank you all. We’re believing for the most prayerful and spiritually attuned school year ever! Please join us and pray for CAA, 2012-2013.

God is on the throne and He has great things in store for His beloved saints… …. That’s YOU! 🙂

Sincerely,

Pastor DEH2
