The Seven Men & Two Natures

7Men2Natures_CoverImage

This blessed old handbill was bequeathed to my by my father, Elder D. E. Haymon, in lesson form, in my childhood. As I grew to adulthood, it became abundantly apparent that I’d been powerfully blessed by a secret that was the key to keeping my foothold along the slippery slopes of life’s journey. Thank God for sure footing! Below, I share with you my recently taught, summary outline of the scriptural references to this lesson as well as this link for the original scanned document.

May you be empowered, blessed, and refreshed by this lesson! You will soon see that it is filled with wondrous revelation!

THE SEVEN MEN AND TWO NATURES
Summary Outline of Scriptural References

It all starts with…

NATURAL MAN

1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV 1900)
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Ephesians 2:1–3 (KJV 1900)

1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
We are all naturally like this. But when the Natural Man turns to God, repents, and is baptized in Jesus’ Name, he loses his sin and becomes a—

REPENTED MAN

Acts 17:30 (KJV 1900)

30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Branches of sin will soon reappear if he does not go on to receive the Holy Ghost.

Romans 7:15 (KJV 1900)

15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

But, when he or she receives the gift of the Holy Ghost, he truly becomes a—

BORN AGAIN MAN!

Colossians 3:9–10 (KJV 1900)

9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

The NEW NATURE grafted in is the Nature of our Lord Jesus Christ… this is the essence of authentically receiving the Holy Ghost!

Acts 2:38 (KJV 1900)

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV 1900)

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Therefore, the Born Again Man has TWO NATURES, the Natural (trunk) and the Spiritual (grafted).
Now, every born again man has a choice…

Romans 8:12–13 (KJV 1900)

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Option one: Live after the flesh and become a —
CARNAL MAN

1 Corinthians 3:1–4 (KJV 1900)

1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

The carnal man has dropped right back into the old life he lived before he was saved. The old nature is back in command!

Eventually, the engrafted “NEW NATURE” will be smothered out and die, and he will become a ——-

REPROBATE MAN

Ephesians 4:19 (KJV 1900)

19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

This is the unpardonable sin. This man is doomed!

Hebrews 10:26–29 (KJV 1900)

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

BUT, THE BORN AGAIN MAN HAS ANOTHER CHOICE:

HE CAN LIVE IN THE NEW NATURE, IN THE SPIRIT, AND BECOME AN—-

OVERCOMING MAN (fleshly desires cut off)

Romans 13:14 (KJV 1900)

14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

1 Corinthians 9:26–27 (KJV 1900)

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

The Overcoming Man crucifies the flesh (sinful appetites) and by the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, cuts off those branches of carnlity which would sap the life of the tree and destroy its spirituality. This pruning process must continue, or the sucker growths of the Old Nature will sprout out when least expected.

The NEW NATURE will now grow, and he will become a—–
SPIRITUAL MAN!

John 15:4–8 (KJV 1900)

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

The truly Spiritual Man is constantly pressing onward, but always aware of his or her own need of vigilance. He is continually seeking God for more of God’s Spirit to fill his life, and ends up bringing lots and lots of fruit!!
