Happy Birthday, Precious Mother of Mine!

2 Timothy 1:5 (MSG) “That precious memory triggers another: your honest faith—and what a rich faith it is, handed down from your grandmother Lois to your mother Eunice, and now to you!”

Mother’s Day weekend 2016 is upon us and I’d like to wish all who qualify under that honorable title a very Happy Mother’s Day!

My own precious mother, Janice Haymon, will be celebrating her 75th birthday this very same weekend (5/7) and I’d like to express a deep and heartfelt thanksgiving to the Lord for her. Love is portrayed in far too many ways to recount in one short article. However, a major area of demonstration comes with the word “attentive.” All through my growing up years, I could always count on my mother watching out for the welfare of my siblings and I in every possible way. As time went by, as is a part of life, her attentiveness shifted from all-encompassing as babies and small children through the phases of necessary attention until even now. At my advanced age of 51, she is still happily attentive and engaged in the things that she knows are important to us. I’m thankful for her attention to our children. As you may know, she has 13 grandchildren! Her attentiveness to each of them is remarkable. They know beyond the shadow of a doubt that whether far or near, she is constantly thinking about them and loving them.

Mother, thank you for being a wonderful and godly example of true Christian motherhood! I love you. I hope this birthday/Mother’s Day combination is the happiest and most memorable ever!

I’m thankful for two more mothers God has placed in my life: my amazing wife, LaRonda, and her sweet mother, Sis. Gayle. I wish them a Happy Mother’s Day weekend!

Mothers are strong links in the generational chain. Today we find a mighty and deeply spiritual generation of apostolics who are that way because, like Timothy  of the New Testament, we have faithful mothers!

We are on the cusp of one of the most anointed and Holy Spirit-infused weeks of this entire year!

About pastordonhaymon2

Senior Pastor Don Haymon II began his journey as a minister when he was raised in the home of the founder of Calvary Apostolic Church—his father. In 1986 he concluded a four-year internship under his father as associate pastor. It was at that time that he received his ordination certificate as a minister of the gospel. He married LaRonda Ellard, in 1992. He earned a bachelor of arts in Communication from the University of Denver the same year. In 1997, Don became senior pastor. In 2013 he graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Christian Leadership from Hope International University. Today, he is the passionate shepherd of Calvary Apostolic Church of Denver, guided by a compelling and true call of God. For those in his pastoral care, he seeks personal development and spiritual growth as a priority. His preaching and teaching has taken him around the world to at least 10 countries. Under his leadership, he has founded six churches in Burma. The challenge of communicating the Acts 2:38 gospel worldwide remains his heartbeat as well as the constant growth pattern of the local church in Denver. He and LaRonda are the parents of three grown children. They reside in Castle Rock, CO.
