It’s June. Happy Summer!

It’s June! Happy Summer!(Well, actually, Summer does not officially begin until about the third week in June!) In the meantime, isn’t it wonderful having balmy weather return! All the green grass and blossoms of Spring are so refreshing. The messages of Spring are all around us… new life, hope, fragrance, birth, new beginnings.
[See below for important announcements.]

Since the beginning of 2016, as a congregation, we have committed to further, deeper, and more constant prayer. Our Prayer Week for this month is in full swing. By now, referencing this Prayer Guide, we have begun praying for the next generation. The day before yesterday we prayed for children specifically. Yesterday, we focused on parents. Today, we pray for families. If you were not aware, families are under severe attack in our world today. Because the very structure of the family is foundational to biblical understanding, it is a natural target for the enemy of the human soul. Therefore, we must make every effort to stand our ground and strongly advocate for Christian values that are fully apostolic. We must pray for the next generation to fully catch the vision of what it means to serve God, pursue happiness, and seek His kingdom all through the lens of a Bible world view. When this is the case, we are willing to make sacrifices and be persecuted for what we know is true. God did not create Adam and Steve! By God’s grace, this generation, and every generation afterward that has anything to do with Calvary Apostolic Church, will never fail to grasp the unnatural confusion of same-sex marriage. The very fundamentals to a natural, biblical order of family virtue have somehow drifted into the murky and uncharted waters of humanism which will only take us, as a whole, farther from God. How desperately we need to find ourselves anchored to the Rock Christ Jesus! Transgender bathrooms? Socialism countenanced in favor of democracy? These things are representative of what sociologists call, “historical drift.” The drift is happening to virtually everyone, even those who consider themselves religious! After all, religion without action is exactly what happens when the foolish man builds his house on the sand. There is no doubt that he hears the same word, and understands the same values. The difference is that he fails to take action. May God help every one of us to be action-oriented apostolics! When we are “doers of the word” we are not only stabilized but we also are those who become the influencers called by God to point the next generation to the beauty of godliness and holiness. I wish to simply say thank you to all of you precious saints who have stood the test of time and remain strong in the Lord! The best is yet to come for God’s people! The darker the night, the brighter the light.

Monthly music ministry practice schedule, the first Saturday of every month is as follows:

3:00 PM, Musicians;

4:00 PM, Ensemble;

Father’s Day is two weeks from this Sunday, June 19. Our theme is both challenging to enhance godly fatherhood, and celebratory of the household champions we call Dads! (Immediately following this Sunday PM service (6/5) we need three ladies available and willing to help with preparation and serving for Father’s Day weekend to see Sis. LaRonda Haymon).

Next Sunday, June 12, we have revival with guest speakers. Sunday morning is Pastor Jason Avant from the Apostolic Church in Loveland, Colorado. Sunday night and Tuesday the 14th, Pastor Ron Wofford, from Parsons, TN. These two pastors are revival-oriented soul winners and join us with a burden to help reach friends, neighbors, and coworkers with the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ! Don’t forget, June 12 is also the second Sunday of the month meaning that we will be hosting our monthly very special Connections Meal for all of those who have been our guests in the last several months.

Senior Pastor Don Haymon II began his journey as a minister when he was raised in the home of the founder of Calvary Apostolic Church—his father. In 1986 he concluded a four-year internship under his father as associate pastor. It was at that time that he received his ordination certificate as a minister of the gospel. He married LaRonda Ellard, in 1992. He earned a bachelor of arts in Communication from the University of Denver the same year. In 1997, Don became senior pastor. In 2013 he graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Christian Leadership from Hope International University. Today, he is the passionate shepherd of Calvary Apostolic Church of Denver, guided by a compelling and true call of God. For those in his pastoral care, he seeks personal development and spiritual growth as a priority. His preaching and teaching has taken him around the world to at least 10 countries. Under his leadership, he has founded six churches in Burma. The challenge of communicating the Acts 2:38 gospel worldwide remains his heartbeat as well as the constant growth pattern of the local church in Denver. He and LaRonda are the parents of three grown children. They reside in Castle Rock, CO.
