Election By God’s Design

Congratulations, President-elect Donald Trump.

Our country is about to experience presidential leadership of a whole new breed. Initial signs, promises, and pledges have been favorable when it comes to many issues that are held dear by Christian conservatives. You do not need my take on analysis or commentary. There are dozens of outlets from which you can derive such information. (If you would ever like a listing of my personally most trusted sources, please feel free to private message me).

Vastly more than getting into the news, the web, or the media, it’s time to get into God’s Word about the latest news. Why so, you may ask? Because, as our sole, enduring, and divine extraterrestrial communication from Heaven, Holy Scripture is non-partisan, without human bias, political special interest, and, most importantly, it is totally absolute in its authority.

Here are a few stand out passages about God’s election design:

Daniel 2:21 (KJV)

[21] And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

Daniel 4:17 (KJV)

[17] This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

Psalms 75:7 (KJV)

[7] But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

 Jeremiah 27:5 (ESV)

[5] It is I who by my great power and my outstretched arm have made the earth, with the men and animals that are on the earth, and I give it to whomever it seems right to me.

The beauty of all of the above is that the God who is in charge and who governs the affairs of men on the earth is responsive to the prayers and petitions of His creatures.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NLTSE)

[14] Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

Indeed, including those of our own congregation, countless prayers for God’s intervention and perfect will have been prayed. I trust that you, dear reader, actively engaged in 2 Chronicles 7:14 prayer for the 2016 election. Do you believe in answered prayer? Then you can trust that God not only heard, but He is forgiving, healing, and restoring!

As positive as I am that God is in the election results, it is with equal trepidation and caution that I face the future as a servant of God’s people. Before the 2016 election was concluded, I determined in my heart that I would not let the outcome dictate the depth or direction of my convictions. I implore you to do the same. We cannot rest on our laurels. It is not a time to take a breather and a back seat simply by trusting that conservative values and leaders will provide what we need as a nation, a church, a family, or an individual.

Truly, our time has arrived to arise as a mighty force on this planet and take our place among those who speak boldly, “Thus saith the Word of the Lord!” Any and all we have the opportunity to influence for God’s kingdom MUST NOW KNOW OUR CONVICTIONS BY OUR UNASHAMED PROCLAMATION THAT JESUS IS LORD OF ALL! Best of all, He wants to be the Love and the Lord of every life, “whosoever will.”

1 Peter 3:15 (MSG)
Through thick and thin, keep your hearts at attention, in adoration before Christ, your Master. Be ready to speak up and tell anyone who asks why you’re living the way you are, and always with the utmost courtesy.

In my adult lifetime, there has never been such an opportunity. Darkness is rampant. GOD’S light is irrepressible and inextinguishable. May the Lord help us to seize the day for His glory!

John 17:23 (KJV)
[23] I in them [the church], and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
